Job Summary
Business Development
* Identify and pursue new supply chain business opportunities across various industrial sectors including mining, agriculture, construction, oil, and gas
* Analyse customer and prospective client needs and tailor solutions to meet specific supply chain requirements
* Build and maintain a strong customer pipeline through cross-selling across multiple industries
* Develop and sustain relationships with key decision-makers within target organisations, remaining informed of their activities to identify opportunities
* Develop and implement effective business growth strategies to attract new clients, expand the customer base, and achieve targeted growth margins
* Manage the full sales cycle from initial prospecting through to deal closure
* Implement business intelligence processes, including pricing analysis, materials, industry trends, and market conditions
* Provide accurate forecasting for new business and contribute to annual budgeting processes
* Deliver monthly reports comparing actual performance against targets
* Assess financial viability and conduct risk analysis of potential clients
* Consistently achieve individual and departmental sales targets
Client Relationship Management
* Conduct regular follow-ups and account reviews to ensure successful service delivery and client satisfaction
* Identify opportunities for upselling and additional services
* Build and maintain long-term client relationships to encourage repeat business
* Act as the primary point of contact during client onboarding
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Collaborate with internal teams, including contracts and marketing, to develop and enhance business strategies
* Work closely with contracts teams to negotiate agreements and ensure favourable terms and conditions
* Engage with legal teams to ensure compliance with all contractual and regulatory requirements
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clients, prospects, proposals, and related documentation
* Support the development of departmental budgets and oversee related expenditure
Market Intelligence, Reporting & Analytics
* Conduct market research to analyse industry trends, competitor activity, and identify new opportunities and customer segments
* Stay informed on supply chain trends and market conditions to effectively position service offerings
* Attend industry events, networking functions, and trade shows to build brand presence and generate leads
* Track sales performance and report on key metrics such as revenue, client acquisition, and conversion rates
* Provide insights and recommendations based on data and client feedback
Proposal & Presentation Preparation
* Prepare business plans, proposals, and presentations for prospective clients
* Present regular reports on new business performance, return on investment, and key metrics to leadership
* Compile and share sales reports and analytical data with internal stakeholders
Team Leadership & Management
* Promote clear communication and collaboration across departments
* Address operational challenges and ensure efficient workflow
* Foster a collaborative and compliant working environment aligned with organisational policies and regulations
Health, Safety & Quality Management
* Ensure quality management requirements are integrated into business processes
* Enforce compliance with health and safety policies and procedures
* Drive continuous improvement across operational processes and systems
