General Engineering Supervisor (Inbye), D2 Seriti, New Denmark Colliery, Mpumalanga Internal & External Ref no: NDC104/25GS Closing date: 22 April 2026 The role: The role is responsible for the day-to-day implementation of plans to manage Seriti’s Engineering Assets, Resources and Infrastructure – availability of machinery and equipment and managing resources and people to achieve planned production targets. Responsibilities will include but not limited to: * Maintain safe work practices and a safe working environment by ensuring that legal requirements and group working standards and policies related to engineering are implemented and followed on the Operations and Projects * Optimise planned maintenance schedules of machinery and equipment ensuring that equipment is effectively maintained * Research and implement best practice systems with respect to cost, maintenance, safety and people management * Effective People management, ensuring that roles are well defined and clarified and that competencies and learning paths are developed to human capacity and capability * Financial Budgeting & Management * Participate in ad hoc projects providing input into drafting of scope for new projects * Sound knowledge of non-flameproof and flameproof diesel equipment and associated hydraulic/pneumatic components * Manage underground diesel dispensing equipment * Management of critical spares and sub-assemblies (stock levels/turnaround time and quality of repairs) * Structural integrity maintenance management * Managing structural/mechanical/hydraulic drawing libraries Requirements: * N4 Technical certificate and recognised Trade Test in the relevant discipline or National Diploma or Engineering Degree * Minimum of 4 years’ experience as an appointed 2.9.2 Engineering Foreman * Safety & Risk Management Course * Knowledge of Relevant Legislation including: The Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals and Energy Act, Basic Conditions of Employment and Environmental Legislation * An in-depth knowledge of technical engineering aspects such as outside equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and South Africa Bureau of Standards (SABS) * A good working knowledge and understanding of machinery and equipment used in the Mining industry * Aware of best practices and new technologies relating to Engineering Principles and Processes * Computer Literacy: MS Office and SAP * Valid driver’s license * In possession or able to obtain a valid Certificate of Fitness Advantageous: * Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems * Proven experience in maintaining heavy equipment used in [mining, construction, or industrial applications] * Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills * Appropriate ERP (SAP or Equivalent) Qualifications * Recognized trade test Please note: * Seriti employees & Seriti fixed term contractors can apply on https://seritiza-employee.simplify.hr/Team with their Seriti email address and click on the relevant job title * Please use Google Chrome as default browser when applying to enable the attachment of documents * A CV with certified copies (certification within a 3-month period) of relevant qualifications, together with ID document & valid driver’s license must be accompanied with your application * Appointments will be made in line with Employment Equity targets * All applicants are thanked for their interest * Applications which have not been responded to within 30 days of closing date should be regarded as unsuccessful Communication will be with shortlisted candidates only
