Employer: Minopex Introduction This position will be based in the Saldanha Bay Municipality area in the Western Cape. Description The purpose of this position is to assist with housekeeping and engineering maintenance activities under instruction from Artisans / Supervisors as well as enable Assistants to be trained and developed to become qualified Engineering Artisans. Duties and Responsibilities • To successfully complete a structured learnership training programme and must be prepared and willing to train and work at a training centre and metallurgical plant • Work under the close supervision of qualified Artisans / Engineering Supervisors • Lift, hold, position and support parts and materials being worked on, manually or with appropriate tools as required • Assist with dismantling and re-assembling components as per instruction • Assist with installations and breakdowns where services are required under instruction from the Artisan or Engineering Supervisor • Performs general housekeeping duties • Perform an observing role when instructed by the Artisan/Engineering Supervisor, e.g. fire watch check for burning conveyors or checking pipeline for leaks Qualification Requirements • Grade 12 with Maths & Science / N2 / NCV Level 4 with relevant subjects:   o Electrician: Maths, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, Electrical trade Theory   o Fitter including Machining: Maths, Science, Fitter Trade Theory, Engineering Drawing   o PLATER WELDER: N2 Plater Theory, Plating and Structural Steel Drawings, Maths & Engineering Science   o Millwright: N6 / S4 Maths, Science, Fitter Trade Theory, Engineering Drawing, Industrial, Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory • A valid Driver’s Licence will be advantageous Experience and Skills Requirements • 1 years’ experience and knowledge within mining industry is preferred • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills • Able to work under pressure • Able to work as part of a team and individually • Technical acumen • English language proficiency • Time management skills
