National Film and Video Foundation invites South African graduates and unemployed youth to apply for the NFVF Internship Programme 2026.
Closing Date: 08 April 2026
Location: Pretoria, South Africa
Programme: Digitisation Project (NARSSA)
Target Group: Unemployed youth (35 years and younger)
About the Programme
The internship programme is implemented in partnership with:
* Department of Sport, Arts and Culture
* National Archives and Records Service of South Africa
This initiative forms part of the Presidential Stimulus Programme, aimed at:
* Creating employment opportunities
* Preserving South Africa’s archival records
* Digitising historical content
Interns will gain hands-on experience in archives, film preservation, IT, and administration.

Archival and Records Roles
* Archivist – Arrangement and Description
* Assistant Archivist (Various Specialisations)
* Records Management
* Archivist – Oral History
* Archivist – Outreach and Publications
Technical and IT Roles
* Systems Administrator
* IT Support
* Scanner Operator
Audio-Visual and Media Roles
* Audio-visual Archives Assistant (Film & Video Preservation)
* Audio-visual Archives Assistant (Sound Preservation)
* Audio-visual Archives Assistant (Legal Deposit)
Administrative and Support Roles
* Administration Officer
* Sensitive Records Admin Officer
* Principal Auxiliary Officer
* Archive Assistant (Housekeeping)
* Conservation Assistant
* Maintenance Officer
Minimum Requirements
Requirements vary by position, but generally include:
* Grade 10 to Degree qualifications depending on role
* Relevant Diploma or Degree for specialised roles
* IT certifications (e.g. MCSE) for technical roles
* Driver’s licence (Code 10 with PDP for specific roles)
