SAPEX, a leading fruit export company based in the Stellenbosch area, has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Compliance Officer (Due Diligence) to join their dynamic team.
The ideal candidate is well organised, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with a solid understanding of quality management systems, legislative and regulatory requirements, and international standards within the fruit export industry
Key Responsibilities includes: \*Monitor quality throughout the packaging and export process, identifying and reporting any deviations or potential risks \*Ensure producers comply with certification requirements (including GlobalG.A.P., Tesco Nurture, SPRING, and SIZA), and that all documentation is accurate, up to date, and audit-ready \*Oversee regulatory compliance, including MRL verification, IFS Broker standards, Chain of Custody (CoC) audits, and full traceability processes (including mock recalls) \*Liaise with internal departments and producers to communicate quality status, market requirements, and regulatory expectations \*Maintain accurate records across electronic platforms and ensure all documentation is audit-ready at all times \*Support all additional tasks related to quality and compliance functions as required.
Essential qualifications, skills, and experience:
• A tertiary qualification in Food Safety, Agriculture, or a related field (advantageous);
• 3–5 years’ experience in a similar quality control and/or due diligence role;
• Sound knowledge of GlobalG.A.P., CoC, IFS, and MRL standards, as well as international export requirements for fresh produce;
• Strong computer literacy (MS Office);
• Fully bilingual (Afrikaans and English);
• Valid driver’s licence.
