Job Summary
Purpose of the Role: To lead and manage the breakfast kitchen operations, ensuring the consistent preparation and presentation of high-quality breakfast dishes while maintaining excellent hygiene standards, efficient kitchen organisation, and a calm, professional service environment. The role supports the Executive Chef in delivering memorable morning dining experiences that reflect the restaurant’s focus on seasonal, farm-driven cuisine.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage breakfast service kitchen operations
* Prepare and execute high-quality breakfast dishes
* Ensure consistency, presentation, and quality across all dishes
* Manage breakfast preparation and mise en place
* Supervise and guide junior kitchen staff during morning service
* Maintain excellent hygiene and food safety standards
* Assist the Executive Chef with menu development
* Ensure efficient stock control and ordering for breakfast operations
* Maintain a calm and organised kitchen during busy services
* Assist with general kitchen operations when required
Criteria
* Previous experience as a Sous Chef or strong Senior Chef de Partie ready to step up
* Culinary qualification or relevant professional training
* Passion for cooking and working with seasonal, farm-driven ingredients
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills
* Strong attention to detail and plating standards
* Positive attitude and ability to work within a professional kitchen team
* Fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans)
* Live in close proximity to Franschhoek
