Position : Video Editor
Working Schedule :Part Time 15 hours per week | Between the hours of 10am-6pm EST
The Role
We are seeking a Part Time creative, fast-moving, and detail-oriented Video Editor to specialize in high-impact social media video ads and organic content. The ideal candidate lives and breathes platforms like TikTok and Instagram Reels, has a strong narrative sense for short-form video, and is an expert in editing directly within tools like CapCut.
Key Responsibilities
* Edit short-form, organic-style video ads and content using CapCut or similar mobile/desktop tools (e.g., InShot, VN).
* Rapidly create multiple versions of video content by applying dynamic text overlays, adjusting pacing, and incorporating trending visual elements.
* Format videos into various required aspect ratios, including 9x16 (vertical) and 4x5, ensuring optimal viewing across different social media platforms.
* Take creative direction from the marketing team and execute efficiently using provided raw footage, B-roll, music, and existing brand assets.
* Ensure consistency and quality across all edited material, adhering to technical specifications and delivery deadlines.
* Maintain and organize a consistent file structure and media library for all ongoing projects.
* Contribute creative ideas to improve ad performance based on your understanding of current social media trends and ad formats.
Required Qualifications
* Proven 2+ years of experience in editing short-form video content specifically for platforms like TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts.
* Expert proficiency with CapCut and a similar, fast-paced mobile/desktop editing tool is essential.
* Strong understanding of social media ad formats, creative storytelling, and the ability to craft compelling narratives.
* Demonstrable skills in adding dynamic text, finding high-quality sound effects, and choosing trending music.
* A strong portfolio showcasing examples of organic-style video ads/content.
SOFT SKILLS REQUIRED
Proactive, organized, and communicative. Creative but execution-focused—able to deliver quickly and adapt to feedback. Flexible, kind, and emotionally intelligent. Familiarity with U.S. pop culture and millennial consumer trends. Comfortable collaborating in a fast-paced, startup environment.
