About the Internship Programme
The Donor Engagement and Events Internship forms part of MSF’s Fundraising Department, specifically within the Retention and Loyalty Team.
As an intern, you will:
* Support fundraising events and donor engagement activities
* Assist with administration and logistics
* Interact with donors and manage queries
* Gain practical experience in fundraising, CRM systems, and customer care
This role is ideal for graduates interested in marketing, public relations, communications, and humanitarian work.
Key Learning Areas
During the internship, you will gain experience in:
* Events management and coordination
* Donor relations and customer service
* CRM (Customer Relationship Management) systems
* Fundraising campaigns and merchandise management
Key Responsibilities
1. Events and Engagement Support
* Assist in organising fundraising events (marathons, webinars, school visits)
* Track donations (EFT, crowdfunding platforms like GivenGain)
* Support event logistics and merchandise delivery
* Communicate with donors and encourage engagement
2. Donor Support and Communication
* Respond to donor queries via email and telephone
* Update donor profiles and records
* Record all interactions on the CRM system
* Ensure timely donor acknowledgment and communication
3. Administration and Reporting
* Maintain fundraising records (digital and physical)
* Assist with SOP writing and quality checks
* Support CRM updates and database management
* Contribute to improving donor retention KPIs
Minimum Requirements
Education:
* National Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
+ Marketing
+ Business Administration
+ Public Relations
+ Communications
Skills and Competencies:
* Strong communication (written and verbal)
* Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel)
* Organisational and time management skills
* Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
* Attention to detail
