A leading FMCG wholesale and food distribution company is looking for an experienced National B2B Sales Manager with strong experience in national sales strategy, key account management, and team leadership to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving revenue growth, profitability, and long-term customer partnerships across the country, while leading regional sales teams and ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. This role requires a commercially astute leader who can deliver sustainable growth, optimise pricing strategies, and build a high-performance sales culture within a fast-paced, competitive environment.
Responsibilities:
* Develop and execute the national B2B sales strategy aligned with company growth objectives
* Drive national revenue, margin, and customer growth targets
* Lead budgeting, forecasting, and annual sales planning processes
* Oversee pricing strategies, discount structures, and contract negotiations
* Manage and grow national key accounts while identifying new business opportunities
* Lead, coach, and develop regional sales teams to ensure consistent performance
* Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic customers
* Ensure effective route-to-market strategies and territory coverage
* Collaborate with internal departments including supply chain, procurement, logistics, and finance
* Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and customer insights to inform strategy
* Ensure accurate reporting, dashboards, and performance tracking
* Maintain compliance with contracts, pricing policies, and governance standards
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or related field (advantageous)
* 7–10 years senior sales experience, with at least 5 years in B2B or wholesale/foodservice sales
* Proven experience leading national or regional sales teams
* Strong experience managing key accounts and large sales portfolios
* Background in FMCG, wholesale, or food distribution
* Strong financial acumen with understanding of margins, pricing, and forecasting
* Advanced proficiency in Excel, CRM systems, and reporting tools
* Strong leadership, negotiation, and relationship management skills
* Ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment
