Employer: Empire Recruitment A well-established company in the international logistics and distribution sector is seeking a highly organised and commercially astute Debtors Manager to take ownership of the full debtors function and lead a team responsible for collections, reconciliations, and credit control across a high-volume client base. Key Responsibilities Debtors & Credit Control Management - Oversee the full debtors book and ensure effective credit control processes - Monitor debtor ageing and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances - Drive collections and ensure targets are consistently achieved - Investigate and resolve account queries efficiently Team Leadership - Lead and manage the debtors team - Allocate workloads and monitor performance - Provide guidance and support to ensure effective collections and client engagement Financial Administration & Reporting - Ensure accurate reconciliations of debtor accounts - Prepare regular reports on debtor status, ageing, and risk exposure - Monitor credit limits and review customer accounts where necessary Client & Stakeholder Engagement - Maintain professional relationships with key clients to resolve payment matters - Work closely with internal departments including sales, operations, and finance - Manage escalations and negotiate payment arrangements where required Process Improvement & Compliance - Ensure adherence to company policies and financial procedures - Identify opportunities to improve credit control processes - Maintain accurate records and reporting standards Minimum Requirements - Relevant qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Credit Management advantageous - Minimum 5 years’ experience in a debtors or credit control environment - Previous team management experience essential - Strong reconciliation and financial administration skills - Experience within logistics, courier, distribution, or service-based industries advantageous The Ideal Candidate - Highly organised with strong attention to detail - Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills - Results-driven with a proactive approach to collections - Able to manage pressure in a high-volume transactional environment - Strong leadership ability with a hands-on management style This opportunity is ideal for someone who understands that strong credit control is critical to operational success, especially in a fast-moving logistics environment where service and cash flow go hand in hand.
