SPECIALIST: HR BUSINESS ANALYTICS AND REPORTING

Purpose of the Role
To design, develop and maintain HR analytical tools and dashboards for sound decision-making and reporting, and to ensure accurate and timeous reporting of HR metrics.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
* A Postgraduate Degree in Human Resources Management (NQF level 8) and Statistics/Business Analytics or an equivalent qualification is required.
OR
* A BSc/BA in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Management, or a related field.
Experience
* 5–8 years’ experience in the Human Resources field, specialising in a broad shared service environment, with strong data analysis and reporting capabilities, of which 5 years must be in Human Resources Information Systems, Reporting and Data Analytics.

Please provide evidence of this in your Curriculum Vitae: -
* Deep technical hands-on expertise in data analytics, data visualisation, business intelligence, and reporting Proficiency in Human Resources systems.
* Experience with HR data and HRMS/HRIS systems (SAP SuccessFactors).
* Broad experience with analytic toolsets with ability to conduct advanced analytics in POWER HEDA and other tools as required/
* Knowledge of policies, strategies and guidelines pertaining to HRIMS and analytics.
* Knowledge of Excel, R and SQL and familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Tableau and SAS, policies and procedures applicable to the work environment.
* Sound knowledge of the relevant legislation applicable to Human Resources Management.
* Sound knowledge of the business environment, the relevant role players within the business and their key responsibilities and outcomes.
* Sound knowledge of the current and future trends in the business area to apply to the best interest of the Institution.
* Knowledge and understanding of strategies, policies and procedures applicable to the specific work environment to ensure that work outcomes are compliant to the policies and procedures
Ideal / Advantageous Requirements
* Knowledge of competency evaluation metrics and systems.
* Passion for research and data analysis.
* Registration with a relevant professional body in statistical analysis.
* Knowledge of the Higher Education sector
Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for, among others:
* Develop and implement strategies, dashboards, and analytics solutions to support effective data analysis and leadership decision-making.
* Define institutional metrics and data sources while building systems that convert raw data into actionable insights.
* Provide strategic support to Human Capital Services through people metrics, predictive analytics, and the application of appropriate statistical techniques.
* Manage HR analytical tools, dashboards, and reporting processes to extract, analyse, and interpret data from multiple sources for credible and insightful reporting.
* Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory and data protection requirements while producing reports for executive management and governance structures.
* Provide user training, support system enhancements in collaboration with ICTS, and develop predictive models to inform workforce trends such as attrition, performance, and recruitment demand.
* Manage analytics and reporting across Human Capital Services, ensuring alignment with institutional requirements for HR metrics.
* Analyse trends, respond to reporting queries, and continuously enhance reporting standards through dashboards, predictive analytics, and mobile reporting capabilities.
* Prepare and submit accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required.
