📍 Location: Botswana (National scope)
📂 Business Unit: Merchant Division
⭐ Purpose of the Role
The Executive Growth Manager – Botswana owns the overall business unit growth, performance, and general management of the Lesaka operation within the country.
This role carries full accountability for:
• Profit & loss management
• Sales performance delivery (to or above budget)
• Sales team cost control
• Device deployment and control within the country
The role leads both company sales teams and independent agents, while ensuring operational alignment, brand integrity, customer retention, and strategic execution across the Botswana market.
You will join a multidisciplinary African leadership team driving expansion and financial inclusion across the continent — with the opportunity to build a lasting legacy within Lesaka Technologies.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
👥 Leadership & Development
• Lead the entire Lesaka Botswana team to build culture and align initiatives to strategy and budget
• Develop and lead field sales managers, sales reps, and customer retention teams
• Recruit skilled, high‑performing sales and administrative staff in alignment with growth strategy
• Build strong partnerships with independent Sales Agents
• Foster trust with Head Office and other country leaders; operate independently while knowing when to escalate
📈 Sales & Marketing Execution
• Grow country VAS and LesakaPay revenue to meet/exceed budget
• Drive Direct Sales and Agency performance using CRM visibility
• Identify geographic and trading node opportunities for strategic deployment
• Strengthen Lesaka brand presence through field marketing and staff/agent alignment
🤝 Customer Retention
• Monitor device performance to maximise ARPU and lifecycle
• Work closely with Head Office to ensure accurate segmentation for Priority Customer support
• Prevent channel churn by aligning Direct and Agent deployment strategies
🧩 Asset Management
• Manage vending device stock and agent/rep allocation
• Ensure timely collection & return of faulty devices
• Oversee company vehicles and mobile asset administration
• Collaborate with Cash Connect to ensure drop‑safe efficiency and cost optimisation
💰 Cost Control
• Ensure staff, travel, logistics, office, and vehicle costs remain aligned to budget
• Implement cost discipline across all operational touchpoints
📑 Administration & Reporting
• Ensure the administrative team is well structured and resourced
• Build a strong partnership with the country admin supervisor
• Deliver weekly/monthly reporting to Head Office and senior leadership
• Align retention reporting with Business Support and Sales
💡 Competencies – Knowledge, Skills & Attributes
Commercial, Leadership & Technical Competencies
• Knowledge of VAS, prepaid and payments industry
• FMCG, liquor, or high‑volume distribution experience preferred
• Proven ability to lead geographically dispersed sales teams
• Strong commercial acumen with cost‑centre management experience
• Entrepreneurial mindset aligned to Lesaka’s trading culture
• Strong Excel & data analysis capability
• Highly data‑driven approach to sales management
Education
• Matric exemption (minimum)
• Degree/Diploma in Business, Sales, or Marketing preferred
• Computer literacy essential
Administration, Communication & Technical Skills
• Strong ability to lead in a computerised sales/admin environment
• Excellent organisational, planning and time‑management skills
• Strong numeric and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal English communication
• Ability to manage multiple demands with accuracy and attention to detail
