A leading property management company is looking for an experienced Utilities Support Technician with strong experience in utilities maintenance, building services, and metering systems to join their team in Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the efficient operation of water and electrical systems, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining accurate utility records across residential developments.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor water and electrical usage and record meter readings
* Inspect utility infrastructure to identify faults, leaks, or inefficiencies
* Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on utility systems
* Log and escalate service failures to relevant teams or contractors
* Assist with installation, replacement, and testing of meters and equipment
* Maintain accurate records, reports, and service logs
* Support contractors during maintenance, repairs, and shutdowns
* Ensure compliance with safety procedures and PPE requirements
Requirements:
* Matric / Grade 12
* Technical qualification (electrical, plumbing, or mechanical) advantageous
* 2–4 years’ experience in utilities, maintenance, or building services
* Basic knowledge of water, electrical, and metering systems
* Ability to use basic tools and read technical instructions
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
* Good communication and teamwork abilities
* Able to work outdoors and under pressure
